Mental Health Week: Movement

SHINE staff Chantelle Ference is focusing on today’s tip which is Movement.

“Movement comes in all forms. Given the time we are in, you might have had to bid farewell to gym memberships and a spot on the rec team. Don’t be discouraged if you can’t access conventional fitness equipment. There are many ways to incorporate movement into your day! Lay out a mat for some stretching, dance while you make supper, do yard work or pick trash in the community, hopscotch, roll down a hill with your kids. The brain chemicals released during exercise play an important part in regulating your mood, so if you need a little mental boost, try to incorporate movement as much as you can!”
